STONESHARP DESIGN AND MAKE A WIDE VARIETY OF FURNITURE, FROM CABINETS, BOOKCASES AND LARDERS, TO LINEN CUPBOARDS AND WARDROBES. HERE IS A SELECTION FROM THE ARCHIVE — TRADITIONAL, MODERN AND UNUSUAL.

Two ‘floating’ alcove cabinets with solid and veneered Black Walnut in combination with hand-sprayed, vivid scarlet paint. The walnut grain flows through doors and drawer fronts within the cabinets’ mirrored design.

This cabinet acquired the name ‘Dot & Top’, part of a limited edition range and the first to be hand-sprayed in the ‘dotted’ method, used most recently on our Larders. The interior a vivid orange, the outside pulsating blues with black walnut top and detailing.

A large breakfront bookcase with cabinet, and two matching alcove cases. Each bookcase was capped with a broken pediment, pared down yet retaining classical features for its Georgian-period setting.

Thin asymmetric shelving with plain fronted cabinets below maximised storage and display in a relatively small space. Playing with heights and proportions was crucial to make the units much more interesting on the eye, without losing any function.

A mobile under-bed plan-chest to store an artist’s drawings, where space was at a premium. Varnished MDF with castors, suitcase handle and toggle clips.

For this kitchen installation everything here was non-standard: a Galley Kitchen for quite a tight space. Finished with hand-sprayed cupboard and drawer fronts in a soft, pale green, with chrome recessed handles.

This large L-shaped banquette (awaiting pads and cushions) was for a dining area with hi-fi unit and shelving nearby. The seating has large storage drawers underneath. Birch-ply grain on the all the drawer fronts flows through on each unit, cut from single sheets.

Speaking of banquettes, we do seem to have made a fair few of them over the years...
